Université Quisqueya, partnered with the Ministry of Education and AMURT-Haiti, came together in 2013 with a bold idea: leverage the strengths of diverse institutions to create a model for professional development for Haitian educators that is replicable, responsive and relevant. InnovEd-UniQ seeks to address the alarming “quality crisis” of Haiti’s education system through a scale-up model of in-service continuing education and certification programs focused on increasing educators’ and school leaders’ competence. InnovEd-UniQ’s approach employs a Hub and Spoke model decentralized throughout Haiti that drives dynamic and participative educational innovation in school networks.
