Program Assistant Job description

The project ToTAL "Tout Timoun Ap Li," Program Assistance to the” Ministère de l’Education Nationale et de la Formation Professionnelle (MENFP)” is an initiative funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) , Implemented by RTI International, in the form of applied research for the development of reading skills of Haitian students. Within the framework of its activities, the project wants to receive applications for a Technical Assistant.

This Program Assistant will support the development of French curricula and related materials for Grades 1, 2, and 3 and, in doing so, will do the following.

• Contribute to the development of reading education materials for students, teachers and coaches
• Assist the Education Assistant in the coordination of development team activities and schedules
• Research, identify, and coordinate production resources, such as in-country editors, proofreaders, and illustrators
• Coordinate production activities between Haiti and US teams
• Coordinate the logistic for the training of trainers, directors of schools and teachers
• Assist the manager of the curriculum and the two chef of teams (French special and creole specialist) in the realization of their responsibilities
• Provide the necessary logistical support to developers of both teams ( French and creole) to facilitate their task
• Assist in a variety of activities to assure the quality of implementation of the reading program

• Bachelor’s Degree in education and 3 years experience in the field of education.
• Excellent reading and writing skills in Creole and French. Knowledge of basic English preferred.
• Competency in word processing (Word and Excell in particular)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead technical activities.
