Introduction

The CRS Haiti health team is going through a period of transition with many of its programs closing and new programs starting. The health team focuses implementing and/or prepositioning itself around the areas of health systems strengthening, child wellbeing and cholera programming. The Child Wellbeing and Health Program Coordinator (PC) will be focused on positioning CRS Haiti’s to be a leader in high quality cholera, child wellbeing and other relevant health programming.

The PC is responsible for providing technical assistance to the CRS/Haiti health team and representing the CRS Health Unit within and outside of the agency. The PC will serve as an active member of the Health Unit to promote technical excellence through contributions made to proposal and strategic plan reviews and development, trainings, development of guidelines and tools, and the support of strategic initiatives.


Fonctions

Job Responsibilities:

1. Supervise, mentor and support Health PM, Cholera/Artibonite PM and Child Protection PM in the Health Unit. This includes ensuring staff understanding of Church teachings regarding health care. The PC will ensure staff professional development and manage the development of weekly work plans and budgets.
2. Assist direct reports in the development and presentation of strategic plans, proposals, and funding requests
3. Support PMs through occasional representation (as needed) in Port-au-Prince for optimal coordination and representation. Ensure CRS Haiti is represented at relevant technical working groups and cluster meetings related to cholera, child wellbeing/protection, and other relevant health sub-sectors.
4. With PQ/BD PM, collect secondary data, relevant peer-reviewed articles and project documents (CRS and other organizations) on child wellbeing program areas for strong prepositioning
5. Keep abreast of programming and technical requirements for health interventions in Cholera, WASH and nutrition, child wellbeing and healthcare to ensure that CRS activities are informed by current best and promising practices
6. Contribute to the identification, collection, and dissemination of health program approaches and technical/medical information, tools, resources, and training materials for the field in cholera. Where necessary, facilitate the development of such materials and resources.
7. Cultivate and strengthen strategic agency partnerships, participate as needed in various international and national health networks, and represent CRS to external agencies including PVOs/NGOs/FBOs, MSPP, DINEPA, USAID and other USG agencies, as well as other international organizations and donors

8. Facilitate the dissemination of promising practices and contribute to publications that highlight best practices and innovations in CRS programs.
9. Coordinate workshops or other relevant learning events, as appropriate.
10. Participate as an active, contributing team member of the Haiti Health Unit
11. Meet with a prioritized list of key stakeholders with other relevant CRS Haiti health staff across varying areas of health programming (includes crossover with WASH as appropriate)
12. Lead and coordinate studies/research initiatives, relevant to programming and prepositioning efforts
13. Act as primary liaison between Port au Prince Health Department and Health/WASH programming and growth efforts in Les Cayes. Assist Les Cayes office with technical support and representation as needed.
14. Act for Health HOP in her absence
15. Any other tasks delegated by Health HoP


Qualifications Requises

Qualifications:
1. Masters, MD or PhD in public health, social work, or other related discipline
2. Excellent knowledge of in-country health, WASH and/or child wellbeing programming
3. Strong knowledge of local context including key stakeholders such as the national government
4. Familiarity with operations research;
5. Strong organizational and management skills
6. Excellent computer literacy (internet, software such as word, excel, etc)
7. Fluent in French, English and Creole
8. Flexible and action oriented
9. Supervisory skills
10. Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team-oriented environment
11. Willingness and ability to travel
