Introduction
Launched in 2010, the Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year Award's Program (DEOY) is a step towards giving indigenous business leaders, men and women, a meaningful stake in thoroughly regenerated, newly modernised, enterprise-driven Haiti. Its objective is to build new economic foundations for Haiti by identifying, rewarding and cultivating the business leaders of the future. Now in its fifth year, the award's program has successfully recognised the over 350 entrepreneurs, created the foundations for a strong network community of entrepreneurs, facilitated high-end executive education programs in both Haiti and the US, and directly and indirectly created business growth opportunities for many entrepreneurs. The DEOY annual ceremony is recognised as the key event on the Haitian business calendar.
Recognising entrepreneurial spirit through acclaiming success is a key driver in building an enterprise economy, and Digicel is for the long-term committed to running the Entrepreneur of the Year program, with the key support of private sector sponsor partners.
