Introduction
Position: Community Mobilizer
Base Location: Islamic Relief Haiti office, Port au Prince, with extensive travel to project sites within the country
Reporting to: WASH Program Manager
Deadline for applying: November 6, 2013
POSITION PURPOSE:
• Community mobilization and sensitization;
• Conduct Monitoring and data collection.
Fonctions
SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct project awareness community meetings at the beginning of each proposed activity of the project to the target committees;
• Organize community public meetings and facilitate the selection of the community steering committee and support them in fulfilling their duties;
• Conduct regular community meetings in the project targeted communities;
• Conduct monitoring activities, data collection and reporting;
• Develop weekly updates and monthly reports on community mobilization activities;
• Any other duties as directed by the Project.
Qualifications Requises
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• University level education in Social Sciences ( Sciences Humaines )or related sciences with technical trainings an advantage;
• Experience in Community Development Projects
• Minimum of two years of relevant NGO experience at national level is required;
• Ability to work independently and under pressure;
• Ability and willingness to travel to project areas at short notice and out of work hours;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish working relations with target communities and project team.
• Working knowledge of the English language
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
