International Organization is seeking individual for the position of:
Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer will serve as a General Engineer. He/She will assist in the management of infrastructure activities while he/she will have prime field monitoring and infrastructure documents review responsibilities. He/She will maintain necessary links with the Senior Engineer in order to produce prompt and reliable expertise on all engineering works to be performed. He/She will support technical teams to design and plan activities in the engineering sector that involve construction or rehabilitation of buildings, roads, electricity generation and other infrastructure and capital improvements.
After overseeing the appropriate design and planning for these activities, he/she will manage implementation of the engineering aspect of these activities in order to obtain results.

Education: Civil or Structural Engineering degree from a University level institution.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in civil or structural engineering highly desired, at least two years of which with the US Government is desirable. Previous experience in planning and managing all aspects of construction bids, able to inspect and comment on design of roads, bridges.
Language: Excellent working knowledge in French and Creole. Level IV English proficiency) is required.
Knowledge: A good understanding of U.S government procedures relative to project funded civil/structural construction (planning, design, contracting and construction management). Knowledge of construction materials and techniques. Have substantial skill in preparing reports, specifications and related materials in English.
Abilities: Experience in Civil engineering and structural design and drafting. Able to use surveying equipment. Must demonstrate ability to take initiative and be self-directed. Knowledge and experience in conducting environmental impact assessment and using information systems is also desirable.

This position is compensated in Local Currency.
