This position aims to monitor Quality Education and psychosocial aspect within IRH program department in integration with the School Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Program in alignment with the Operational Plan of the Ministry of Education.


Fonctions

1. Support school directors in developing a school management plan including maintenance mechanisms that will be ready to be applied once the new schools are handed over to the MOE
2. Present school management plans to the Ministry of Education in the interest of reviewing funding structures for the schools
3. Develop a school management training package including leadership capacity building and school governance, and organize training sessions for school directors before the schools are handed over to them.
4. Develop and manage a communication mechanism to share materials including designs developed through the SRRP with different stakeholders including the education commission of the CLIO, engineering/architectural colleges, school children and MOE.
5. Liaise with school directors and MOE to identify type of materials and school equipments for each of the school and ensure that there are in line with the standards of Ministry of Education. This included both quality and type and develop budget accordingly.
6. Develop mechanisms to ensure active children participation/consultation and civil society involvement in selected phases of the project. This may include children participation in the design phase of the project through drawing competition, for example.
7. Assist in surveying other NGO soft programming around construction and determine what aspects can also be used by Islamic Relief. Liaise with other NGOs involving in school construction, find out eventual gaps and develop set of activities that IRH can do differently through its current school Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Project and gather information that will be needed to develop concept notes accordingly
8. Liaise or network with other NGOs and other agencies and develop a WASH in school training package for teachers and children and facilitates training sessions. Identify support packages for WASH training in schools through the partnership with other organizations.
9. Participate in the Education Commission of the CLIO
10. Assist in the administrative aspects of LEED applications for the schools. Lead the creation of green school programme, including recycling and water management committes to support the LEED and general sustainability aspirations of Islamic Relief.
11. Develop working document analyzing the existing school programme within IR highlighting the aspects external to the infrastructural work and identifying the successes and failures of same.
12. Lead the Disaster Risk Reduction in our schools, creating emergency response teams in the students.
13. Organize presentations to the existing design schools as part of a knowledge share programme with a view to launching an architectural design competition for Lycee Jeunes Filles. Manage all aspects of the design competition with the support of the School Reconstruction Programme team.
14. Make a proposal for education management to other NGOS’s on the integration of our current work as a best practice model for government, providing a framework for the governance


Qualifications Requises

1. A degree in Education or in a relevant management and administrative domain
2. Strong project management skills
3. Strong coordination and interpersonal communication skills
4. Can manage stress
5. Problem solving
6. Able to coordinate with schools directors, Ministry of Education, local authorities and other stakeholders involved in education sector including the CLIO
7. High standard in spoken and written French and creole with strong English communication skills
8. Excellent, professional writing, presentation and communication skills
9. Computer skills: Microsoft Suite, Excel, PowerPoint
10. Sympathetic to the vision, mission and values of Islamic Relief.
11. Excellent cross-cultural interpersonal skills
12. Good responsiveness, involvement, initiative


Conditions particulières

 A minimum 4 years of experience in monitoring and manage Education projects and programs
 Strong knowledge of the Haitian education system
 Understanding of accountability to beneficiaries
 Good working knowledge of the Ministry of Education and municipalities
