Introduction

AECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, health, water and government.
AECOM was awarded the Haiti Health Infrastructure Program (HHIP) by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Under the contract, AECOM will provide planning, design and construction management services to the upgrading of selected medical facilities in support of strengthening the infrastructure and capacity of the Haitian Ministry of Health.


Fonctions

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Engineer assists with the implementation of project activities by providing technical support to project staff. S/he provides all necessary design related assistance including copying/filing of documents, managing reports and resources, scheduling and coordinating site meeting/events and logistics, and administratively supporting technical staff. The Junior Engineer ensures that all technical work is conducted according to AECOM’s policies and procedures and in compliance with USAID regulations. The Junior Engineer is aware of, and adheres to, AECOM’s Professional Standards in all activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with all aspects of building analysis, project design and drawing, and construction administration.

2. Perform general drafting duties to include, but not limited to producing accurate as-built drawings and design options in plan, elevation, section, and details.

3. Conduct research, compile data and prepare reports as requested.

4. Support senior staff in preparing/disseminating materials, translating and formatting technical documents, reports and presentations.

5. Record, compile, transcribe, translate and distribute meeting minutes, as requested.

6. Assist administrative staff with procurement of drafting materials including tracing paper, pens, markers, and plots.

7. Coordinate site visits with administrative staff and drivers.

8. Identify and coordinate meetings with Haitian contractors and sub-consultants


Qualifications Requises

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• At least 2 years of engineering experience working with a licensed engineer or architect.
• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCad is a must. Additional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet research is expected.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize tasks and a proven ability to consistently meet deadlines in a challenging workplace environment.
• Strong office and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to handle variety of activities with strong attention to detail and quality.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients and consultants.
• Demonstrated ability to use discretion and good judgment; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and tactfulness.
• Ability to speak and write in English, French, and Haitian Creole.
