Introduction

AECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, health, water and government.
AECOM was awarded the Haiti Health Infrastructure Program (HHIP) by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Under the contract, AECOM will provide planning, design and construction management services to the upgrading of selected medical facilities in support of strengthening the infrastructure and capacity of the Haitian Ministry of Health.


Fonctions

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Engineer/Construction Supervisor assists with the implementation of project activities by providing support to the technical design team during the preconstruction phase of projects; support to the senior management during the tender phase and provides full time representation on project sites during construction for administration of the construction contract, coordination QA/QC efforts, inspections and clarification and resolution of design related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares site investigations, measurements and as-built sketches of existing site conditions for use in developing concept plans and programs.
2. Attends meetings and prepares minutes for design planning, programming and preconstruction sessions with project stakeholders and the design principals.
3. Assists in developing project phasing and construction management plans.
4. Assists in preparation of RFPs and tender packages.
5. Participates in prebid/pretender meetings, prepares minutes and notes.
6. Assists the Sr. Construction Manager in the administration of construction contracts .
7. Provides day to day onsite inspection of the construction works and coordinates the required QA/QC processes and maintains documentation and records.
8. Coordinates contractor submittal reviews, logging, tracking and documentation.
9. Coordinates receipt of and response to RFIs and maintains documentation.
10. Assists in evaluation of contractors schedules and performance.
11. Assists in evaluation of changes and claims presented by the contractor.
12. Assists in review of contractor payment applications
13. Maintains project logs and files
14. Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Construction Manager.


Qualifications Requises

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position with a construction management or contracting company.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Access PowerPoint, Outlook and internet research.
• Ability to work independently, takes initiative, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong office and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to handle variety of activities with an attention to detail and quality.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients and consultants.
• Demonstrated ability to use discretion and good judgment; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and tactfulness.
• Ability to speak and write in French, Haitian Creole, and English.
