Since its incorporation in the United States in 1998, CA-USA has provided technical assistance services and support to U.S. Government agencies and international organizations such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), and the Gates Foundation.
The USAID (United States Agency for International Development) funded Haiti Health Systems Strengthening program is focused on upgrading selected health facilities and infrastructure to support the overall strengthening and capacity building of the Haitian Ministry of Health. The program will oversee the construction of new facilities, renovation of existing facilities and studies, and technical analysis for proposed projects.
Crown Agents USA, Inc. will be an exclusive subcontractor to AECOM for implementation activities related to needs assessments in support of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of health infrastructure projects. Crown Agents USA, Inc. will also provide technical assistance for assessments of population health needs, especially among the disabled in order to improve access to existing health facilities. The ability to provide adequate care and rehabilitation within the Haitian Health System is a key component of the program.
Fonctions
The Health Specialist will support the Senior Health Facility Planner in the design and implementation of health assessments and liaison with local and government health authorities. Key duties include data collection, analysis, follow-up activities and supporting the Deputy Chief of Part on an as needed basis.
•Review available data and research on needs assessment site prior to site visit and meetings with clients and end users;
•Work collaboratively with team of engineers, architects and health facility planners to define tool whose result feed into engineering and architect designs and plans for new hospitals, clinics and medical warehouses.
•Work with communities and government entities on the implementation of tool
•Go into communities to test and finalize tool
•Conduct site visit with team of engineers, architects and health facility planners
•Collect data via surveys and focus groups
•Input data into appropriate software
•Analyze data for results and recommendations on types and numbers of health related rooms needed within new medical facilities.
Qualifications Requises
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred
•10 or more years of related work experience desired; Combination of related work history and education considered
•Demonstrated prior experience working for USAID, MMC, World Bank, or other donor preferred
•Prior experience working with Ministry of Health a plus
•Knowledge of data collection and assessment tools for health reconstruction or related health programs strongly preferred; Related experience considered
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including proficiency in Excel
•Above average collaboration skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
•Legal ability to work in Haiti required
•Fluency in French required
•Proficiency in English desired
