Plan Haiti is seeking for an International/National Consultant Nutritionist to be responsible for preliminary study of implementing effective and efficient component of complementary feeding of Integrated project of Community-based Nutrition and school feeding which aims to improve nutritional and health status of students, pregnant women and lactating women (PWLW) and children under 5 in three departments of Haiti (Plan intervention area) by end of 2012.

• Work closely with Country Nutrition Manager, Nutrition Project Manager and Project and Nutrition Officers in North East department to ensure quality of AK1000plus flour in synergy with other nutrition interventions in Haiti Plan;
• Respect of deadline and planning of mission (logical framework, budget, timeline, deadlines, expected results);
• Empower and strengthen technical capacity of flour production group and project staff through training, workshops / internal workshop about AK1000 flour production tools.
• Maintain good communication and collaboration with technical and financial partners (Plan Canada, UNICEF) and local partners (DSNE, Nutrition Technical Group, other structures);
• Capitalize all mission activities by analyzing and compiling data and reports of sensory testing and training.
2. AK1000plus, infant flour formulation
• Responsible for formulation and adjustment of AK1000plus formula through sensory tests;
• Conduct training missions groups of flour producers in the field to assess quality of implemented activities and Plan and local partners skills involved in the project;
• Good collaboration with the Country Nutrition Manager in the development of different working methods (sensory testing, formulation, .....) before their implementation on field and mission reports before validation and advertisement ;
• Contribute to design and develop tools (image box, flour protocol preparation, production units supervision, spotlights, ...) in close collaboration with Nutrition Country Manager;
3/ Development and transferability of AK1000plus formula
• Develop tools transferability of the formula;
• Training of Planning and production groups on the study of transferability;
• Training flour producers about respect of quality assurance rules in formula transferability through field visits and meeting with groups.
4/ Elaboration of best practice tools on AK1000 processing transferability and robustness
• Develop AK1000 formula transferring tools;
• Training production groups about formula and planning of study of formula transfer;
• Field visit, training and maintenance groups on technology transfer and compliance with quality assurance in the production of flour AK1000plus;
• Establish a system with relevant tools for monitoring and evaluation of nutritional and bacteriological quality (HACCP) of AK1000 flour through production chain and marketing

• Advanced university degree (Master up) or equivalent with experience in formulation and production of complementary foods, especially in context of developing countries,
• Direct experience required minimum of 3 years in management of public health or nutrition project. Knowledge of computer software for infant food formulation (ALICOM, Tastle and others). Strong training, technology transfer and monitoring skills are essentials.
• Fluent in French and very good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Creole is an asset.
• Computer software skills (Office Pack, ALICOM, Tastle ...)
• Ability to communicate with various actors and stakeholders
• Understanding of attitudes, behaviors and practices to propose changing if necessary;
• Global view of nutritional dynamic and its synergy with health;
