Fonctions
CHF is seeking an experienced Community Mobilization Team Leader (CMTL) for an anticipated housing reconstruction project in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This project will assist residents of selected Port-au-Prince neighborhoods severely affected by the earthquake to return to their communities by supporting them to repair and/or reconstruct their homes and improve basic community infrastructure.
The CMTL, reporting to the Technical Director, will support assessment activities, finalize assistance packages and set up supporting information channels, relationships, and procedures; recruit, supervise and train employees.
The CMTL will also be responsible for establishing structures through which the community can voice their concerns, priorities, complaints and issues on a regular basis. The CMTL serves as the first face of the program to the community and is responsible for the communication of all critical information to the community as well as from the community to the program management team. Finally, the CMTL will be responsible for the agreements on a community level with all technical managers, such as housing and rubble removal agreements by residents.
Qualifications Requises
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience in lieu of education and 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Post disaster or emergency project management experience required.
• Experience in developing and implementing community development components and community driven approaches or programs in challenging environments.
• Excellent organizational skills; flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines required;
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
• Must be able to work in collaboration with both national and international staff.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully implement and coordinate programs, particularly with shelter programs, with an international NGO/non-profit.
• Fluency in French is required; Haitian Creole is a plus.
