Introduction

As part of the operations of a bar/restaurant located in the metropolitan area.  The Management is seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager to support the daily management and smooth operation of the establishment.



The position requires a professional, dynamic, flexible, and customer-oriented individual who is able to operate in a demanding environment and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.



The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to progressively move into a Manager position, based on performance, skills, and ability to take responsibility for the overall operations of the establishment.



3. Position Objective



The primary responsibility of the Assistant Manager is to support Management in the day-to-day management and smooth operation of the establishment, with particular emphasis on ensuring excellent customer service.



The successful candidate will progressively develop a comprehensive understanding of the establishment's operations and will be expected to contribute to different areas of its management.


Fonctions

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of Management, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

A. Customer Service
Welcome and serve customers with professionalism, courtesy, and a positive attitude;
Provide high-quality customer service and respond appropriately to customers' needs;
Maintain a friendly and professional attitude at all times;
Make customer satisfaction and service quality a top priority;
Communicate effectively with a demanding and international clientele;
Ensure that the establishment's service standards are consistently maintained.
B. Management Support
Assist Management with the daily operations of the establishment;
Support the coordination of the various activities of the establishment;
Contribute to the overall organization and smooth running of operations;
Assist with different operational responsibilities as required;
Take responsibility for certain aspects of the operation in the absence of Management, when necessary.
C. POS and Computer Skills
Use a computer as part of daily professional activities;
Operate the establishment's POS (Point-of-Sale) system;
Perform the necessary transactions and operations through the POS system;
Previous experience with the specific POS system is not mandatory, as training will be provided on site.
D. Versatility and Operational Management

The successful candidate must be willing to work across different areas of the establishment and develop a comprehensive understanding of its operations.

The objective is for the individual to progressively develop the ability to act as an all-around manager, capable of assisting Management and, eventually, overseeing the various aspects of the establishment's operations.


Qualifications Requises

Required Qualifications and Competencies
Education
University-level education is required.
Professional Experience
Demonstrated professional work experience;
Candidates must have prior professional experience and should not be individuals entering the workforce for the first time;
Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality sector is an asset but is not mandatory, as on-the-job training will be provided.
Languages

Excellent spoken and written proficiency in all three of the following languages is required:

English – spoken and written;
French – spoken and written;
Haitian Creole – spoken and written.

"Strong English proficiency is particularly important given the nature of the establishment's clientele."

Conditions particulières

Working Conditions

Regular working schedule:
Wednesday to Sunday, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Due to the operational requirements of the establishment, the successful candidate must demonstrate a high degree of flexibility. Working on different days or at different hours from the regular schedule may occasionally be required.

When operations extend beyond 8:00 PM, the following options may apply:

Return home after the end of the shift; or
Stay overnight at the establishment.
7. Duty Station

The position is based at a bar/restaurant located in the metropolitan area.

For reasons related to the establishment, the exact location and identity of the establishment will not be disclosed at this stage of the recruitment process.

8. Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, professional experience, and qualifications.

The salary may be negotiated in United States dollars (USD).

Specific compensation terms will be discussed with the selected candidate.
