Introduction
The Junior Accountant has primary responsibility for preparing on a monthly basis the A/P reconciliation, reviewing and processing bills, invoices and requests documents, performing accounting tasks in the day-to-day operations in the Haiti Office.
Fonctions
A- Accounting Responsibilities
a. Ensure that all expenditure is made in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and HELP’s mission.
b. Monthly preparation of account payables reconciliation.
c. Purchase Request for all credit cards transactions monthly.
d. Ensure that all invoices are paid on time.
e. Ensure that all requests are correctly documented before writing Checks.
f. Perform data entry in Intacct and ensure all transactions are properly booked.
g. Follow up with Administration on pending invoices to pay.
h. Classify and post supporting documents on OneDrive.
i. Assist the Senior Accountants in all specific tasks.
j. Assist in preparing documents of support for end-of-year Audit.
k. Follow up with NY Office on credit cards transactions in the US.
B- Support to overall HELP activities:
a. Provide additional support as needed and requested by the HELP Direction (e.g. Donor visits, Outreach, fundraising, participation in meetings and HELP activities, participating on interview panels for staff and students, etc).
Qualifications Requises
a) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance.
b) At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting / preferably NGO or International Organization.
c) Be able to work under pressure.
d) Fluent in French & English

1. Accuracy of financial transactions (e.g. appropriate documentation, accurate data on Intacct, timely filing).
2. Submission on timely fashion of the A/P reconciliations and credit cards transactions for HELP and appropriate journal entries.
3. Proactive in communicating and resolving issues.
4. Level of discretion in working with sensitive information.
