Introduction
The Fair Coordinator on the Host Family Support program is an important program person in the field office for the Support to Host Family Project supported by the American Red Cross. The Program will provide vouchers to eligible households that they can redeem for household or livelihood items in market fairs organized by the organization. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Fair Coordinator will work closely with vendors, local NGOs, local government and team members to ensure that the Fairs are well organized and safe. He/she will help ensure that program deliverables are met in the geographic zone and the quality of the program is high.
Fonctions
• Develop weekly and monthly work plans with the team. Coordinate work with Community Mobilizers and Training Officers to ensure the program progresses according to schedule.
• Working alongside the Security Focal Point, assess and select venues for the Market Fairs against criteria established by the Team. Develop and adhere to security protocols.
• Organize all logistics for the Fairs. Including security, crowd control, display areas, booths and displays. Ensure water and toilet facilities are adequate for the number expected.
• In collaboration with the Training Coordinator, identify other local groups to provide educational and entertainment at the Fairs. Topics covered could include: sanitation, nutrition, disaster preparedness, HIV and promotion of local culture. Develop Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with each group.
• Participate in the training of vendors to be included in the Fair. Help develop and deliver training modules. Ensure that vendors have the required information on the number of beneficiaries expected at the Fair and inventory required.
• Identify and supervise short-term labor at the Fairs. Have clear roles and responsibilities for community members participating in the fair.
• Monitor progress against indicators in collaboration with the Monitoring Team.
• Document lessons learned and success stories on the project.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Requises
• Strong logistical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
• Ability to understand, develop and follow agreed upon processes.
• Able to drive a motorbike safely, valid license. Preferred but not required.
• Computer skills strongly preferred.
• Fluent in French.
