Introduction

The Training Coordinator on the Host Family Support program is an important program person in the field office for the Support to Host Family Project supported by the American Red Cross. The Program will provide vouchers to eligible households that they can redeem for household or livelihood items in market fairs organized by the organization. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Training Coordinator will develop curriculum and train participating vendors on the voucher process. He/she will help ensure that program deliverables are met in the geographic zone and the quality of the program is high.


Fonctions

• Develop weekly and monthly work plans with the team. Coordinate work with Community Mobilizers and Market Fair Officers to ensure the program progresses according to schedule.
• Under the supervision of the Program Manager, develop and deliver all curriculum required to sensitize and train participating vendors regarding the Fair’s structure. Trainings should be creative and incorporate written materials, presentations, illustrations and role plays. Identify a feedback mechanism to ensure that participants understand the material.
• Organize the vendor trainings, including taking the lead on venue identification and training arrangements (invitations, catering….) as required.
• Develop and in collaboration with the Community Organizers deliver training and messages to beneficiary households which explain the program and the voucher redemption process. Similar to the above, trainings should be creative and incorporate written materials, presentations, illustrations and role plays. Identify a feedback mechanism to ensure that participants understand the material.
• In collaboration with the Market Fair coordinator, identify other local groups to provide educational and entertainment at the Fairs. Topics covered could include: sanitation, nutrition, disaster preparedness, HIV and promotion of local culture. Take the lead on ensuring the training provided by the organization is of high quality and accuracy.
• Monitor progress against indicators in collaboration with the Monitoring Team.
• Document lessons learned and success stories on the project.
• Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications Requises

• Strong presentation skills and ability to train using a range of mediums. Ability to develop curriculum and think through processes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
• Able to drive a motorbike safely, valid license. Preferred but not required.
• Computer skills strongly preferred.
• Fluent in French.
