Introduction

The Vendor Officer on the Food Security program is an important program person in the field office for the Food Security Program supported by USAID/FFP. The Program will provide vouchers to eligible households that they can redeem for food items at participating vendors. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Vendor Officer will develop curriculum and train participating vendors on the voucher process. He/she will help ensure that program deliverables are met in the geographic zone and the quality of the program is high.


Fonctions

• Develop weekly and monthly work plans with the team. Coordinate work with Community Mobilizers and Voucher Distribution Officers to ensure the program progresses according to schedule.
• Under the supervision of the Program Manager, develop and deliver all curriculum required to sensitize and train participating vendors regarding the voucher process. Trainings should be creative and incorporate written materials, presentations, illustrations and role plays. Identify a feedback mechanism to ensure that participants understand the material.
• Organize the vendor trainings, including taking the lead on venue identification and training arrangements (invitations, catering….) as required.
• Provide input into the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that vendors will sign with Mercy Corps. Ensure all vendors have a signed MOU prior to their participation.
• Monitor participating vendors on a regular basis. Ensure they are adhering to the terms of their MOU with Mercy Corps and monitor their stock levels to ensure they are able to meet demand. Assist them to maintain records needed for M&E purposes.
• Assist the vendors with the redemption process at financial institutions as required.
• In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team monitor prices of commodities sold by the vendors.
• Monitor progress against indicators in collaboration with the Monitoring Team.
• Document lessons learned and success stories on the project.
• Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications Requises

• Strong presentation skills and ability to train using a range of mediums. Ability to develop curriculum and think through processes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
• Able to drive a motorbike safely, valid license. Preferred but not required.
• Computer skills strongly preferred.
• Fluent in French.
