Fonctions
The Senior IP Network Engineer is responsible for the technical system operations, and maintenance of Digicel’s IP infrastructure. This includes the enterprise core and edge networks, international points of presence in Miami and New York.
The engineer is also responsible for providing technical expertise for the continued development of the WBB IP infrastructure and providing technical support to key stakeholders in developing and implementing products and services to enable Digicel to deliver high quality Internet and wireless broadband services to our customers and business partners.
To seamlessly integrate the existing Internet/IP and Data infrastructures across the region in providing an efficient, homogenous, autonomous and secure environment, capable of satisfying the needs and expectations of our customers and Regional networks.

Ensure that Digicel’s IP infrastructures and applications meet the needs of company’s business strategy, Customer management and Next Generation networks.
Ensure the high availability and reliability of the network supporting the region’s Internet / IP and Data systems and networks (if applicable).
Design and implement an autonomous Internet and IP / Data networks to support business and customer needs.
Select the appropriate networking and physical hardware devices to ensure technical integration with existing plug and play architecture.
Liaise with hardware/software suppliers and ensure that all support/maintenance contracts are adequate and offer best value to the business.
Develop processes and procedures outlining clear operational guidelines.
Ensure that new initiatives achieve the desired value proposition.
Facilitate the integration of Network Management (NOC) with full capabilities of effecting surveillance, monitoring and first line trouble shooting of all network nodes/elements.
Ensure that all systems and network elements are designed and implemented with appropriate level of security, consistent with enterprise security policy.
Perform R&D with a view of continuously improving on, technology, products and services and customer care.
Establish and communicate appropriate service level agreements (SLA’s) for measuring the productivity of key business processes and respective applications.
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely development and deployment of new products and services.
Provide timely and accurate reports as per business requirement.
Ensure that all network elements are adequately secured against vulnerabilities by employing the relevant IT security best practices.
Maintain all major network elements so as to achieve 99.99% availability.
Ensure the speedy resolution of all service affecting faults on the IP network in accordance with agreed service level agreements.
Supervise, train and mentor junior engineers.
Monitor assigned projects priorities and provide appropriate feedback to management team.
Maintain processes for effective Business Continuity Management.
Support and provide training to Help Desk staff and Network Operations Centre applications and software related issues.
Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for hardware and software installation and support.
Ensure 24x7x366 hands-on operational support.
Maintain fault management processes and procedures in accordance with company guidelines.
Qualifications Requises
B.S.C in Computer Science or equivalent with at least five (5) years
experience in IP & Data technology
The individual must have practical experience with:
Network design and management, including router, firewall, network. Access servers, core network, / CPE’S, BGP peering and domain management.
Design, operations and maintenance of an ISP environment.
Functional operations, Video and VOIP technologies.
Fault management and functional integration/operation of the NOC.
Internet and Network Security.
Structure and operation of the internet gateway links.
Network, planning, engineering and development.
Equipment evaluation and selection process.
Analytical and open minded.
Additionally, the individual should be familiar with:
Management of projects, particular rolled out to a users across multiple geographies.
Growing trends with technology especially in the areas of IP/IT technology.
