The Program Assistant will be based in Port au Prince and will be under the direct supervision and guidance of the Camp Management Officer, Site Planning Officer or Protection Officer and under the overall supervision of the IOM Chief of Mission. The Program Assistant will work in close cooperation with the Camp Management Officer, and other IOM field staff to ensure that the program functions are covered.

1. Coordinate closely with camp committees and camp management agencies

2. Understand and participate in camp management planning and strategy development

3. Monitor the application of standards in camp or spontaneous sites

4. Advise solutions to identified problems and coordinate implementation

5. Liaising with national/local authorities, state institutions, local civil society and other relevant actors.

6. Supervise and monitor a team of Field Assistants to improve capacity of the camp committees, assess needs and provide vital feedback to the Cluster.

7. Monitor and assess protection issues in camps


8. Assist in assessing preparedness and identify training needs for camp committee and partners

9. Perform other such duties as may be assigned and within the incumbent’s capacity.

University degree in Social Work
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel;
Excellent communication skills
Excellent typing skills;
Attention to details.

Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
Experience in Social Work or related Fields.
