Compassion International, a Christian Child development organization receives applications for the following position:

FACILITIES RECONSTRUCTION PROCUREMENT LIAISON

The successful procurement specialist must be a strong communicator, have outstanding negotiating skills and be able to grasp and maintain Compassion’s Vision of Ministry. The procurement liaison must be able to establish and grow quality business contacts with supply vendors and be able to objectively budget the purchase of those products with Compassion’s best interests in mind. The Procurement Liaison will manage the inventory control systems at multiple project and warehouse locations. He will find contract manufacturers, negotiate and analyze costs, work with domestic and international vendors to provide overall order fulfillment.

1. Mature Christian person, based on Christian values; has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is above reproach in integrity and honesty.
2. Have a business diploma with at least two years purchasing experience.
3. Five years of related experience, accounting or procurement experience needed. Have experience negotiating contracts and conducting financial analysis.
4. Background in working with NGOs as well as international reporting requirements is desired.
5. Experience managing a warehouse moving large quantities of materials in and out of the warehouse. This experience must include using Bin Cards, Stock cards and Inventory Control Sheets. He will find contract manufacturers, negotiate and analyze costs, work with domestic and international vendors to provide overall order fulfillment
6. Be a strong communicator, have outstanding negotiating skills and be able to grasp and maintain Compassion’s Vision of Ministry.
7. Be able to establish and grow quality business contacts with supply vendors and be able to objectively budget the purchase of those products with Compassion’s best interests in mind.
8. Able to perform assigned duties in support of Facilities Reconstruction team objectives.
9. Excellent organizational skills, cooperative and able to keep accurate records.
10. Computer skills with Microsoft Office products especially Excel and Access. Able to negotiate contracts and conducting financial analysis.
11. Willing to work in a team environment where change is constant.
12. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
13. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
14. Basic English skills recommended.
15. Ability to travel to project sites including La Gonave, to verify inventory control and processes
