J/P HRO's mission is to save lives and rebuild communities through sustainable programs.

The Dispatcher manages and controls the scheduling of all J/P HRO motor vehicles and coordinates drivers to provide efficient support transportation services.

At least three years of dispatch management experience. Degree preferred.
Thorough knowledge of fleet operations
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must be of age 25 or more with at least four (4) years of experience as a non-professional driver
Two (2) years of experience as a professional driver (preferred)
Must have knowledge of automotive vehicle operation and a general knowledge of automotive safety maintenance.
Knowledge of geography for the Port Au Prince and surrounding areas;
Computer skills: Excel, Word, Internet
NGO experience, a plus
Fluency in written and spoken Anglais, French and Creole

Processes and evaluates information received, prioritizes calls, and dispatches accordingly
Monitors and coordinates J/P fleet activities and assignments via radio frequencies, cell phone, and verbal instruction
Multi-tasking- coordinating simultaneous mental, manual and visual activities;
Observing situations analytically and objectively and relaying details accurately;
Creates and maintains automated or manual logs of fleet usage.
Skill in reading and interpreting maps
Ability to think clearly and act quickly in emergencies;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all personnel, outside agencies, and the public
Must be able to negotiate effectively conflicting desires or requests of chauffeurs for changes in work schedule.
Must be able to provide good customer service and communicate effectively with customers in English, French, and Creole.
Gas control- maintain gas in each vehicle at all times and project/plan for a gas shortage
Verify and maintain an accurate vehicle log at the beginning and at the end of the day
