• Conduct regular field visits to monitor community Malaria control and Integrated Management of Childhood (IMCI) activities in hard to reach districts, as well as conducts periodic program reviews with Ministry of Health counterparts and other partners. Technical Specialist – Health and Nutrition, World Vision International, Somalia Program : 11.2013 to 07.2014 • Prepare Child Survival and Development documents, ensuring effective strategies for scaling up malaria and Polio outbreak eradication activities in World Vision supported districts, ensuring effective national level support to districts especially those affected by conflict. • Develop annual plans of action; write project status reports required for Management Board, Donors, Budget review, program analysis, annual reports and other programme documents, as required. Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health as well as district health authorities to ensure that resources for malaria and Polio outbreak eradication from government and other partners including the Global Fund for Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV/ AIDS are targeting women and children, orphans and other vulnerable groups. • Meet with national and international agencies covering the management of child health interventions. • Manage the Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) programme. The programming is focused on community case management for childhood illnesses (malaria, pneumonia and diarrhea) with nutrition, and new programs in health information management systems, and health system strengthening. • Working with the Field Coordinator and Ali Sabieh based team to ensure that work plans for all programmatic activities (field operations, M+E activities) are developed and implemented.
