Concern has the intention to deliver safe drinking water to selected water points (bladder tanks) in various locations of Port Au Prince area and to ensure the timely delivery and maintenance of those water points.

Job Purpose:

To assist the Engineering Team Leader with logistics, planning and general monitoring and maintenance of water systems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

- Prepare work planning schedules as well as material delivery planning;
- Prepare and keep updated on a daily basis a Diary;
- Actively support the WASH work team as instructed by the Engineering Team Leader;
- Be prepared to undertake work and responsibilities as found necessary and identified by the Engineering Team Leader;
- Be flexible to potentially shift to other duties should so be required;
- Be flexible with regard to the exact job location throughout areas affected by the Haiti earthquake;

. Education & Qualifications Required:
Essential: Practical experience from managing workers in construction, agricultural work or similar

2. Experience Required:
Essential: See 1 above.

Desirable: : Ideally will have worked in emergency recovery work, have a good understanding and practical experience of community participation in construction programming; experience in dealing with service/material suppliers and experience in construction project planning and monitoring.

3. Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements:
Essential: Strong organisational, interpersonal and communications skills. Flexible, reliable, culturally sensitive, ability to work under pressure, a feel for the way Concern operates and Concern target group. Needs to have initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision. Has experience of working in isolated area in a difficult cultural environment and is willing to travel extensively to projects sites.

The WASH Assistant Water must understand the urgency character of the work, and be prepared to work on irregular hours and days;
