Introduction

Job Description: This position will involve working closely with local “tent communities/camps” composed of people who have been displaced by the recent earthquake in Haiti. The position will require field visits to the communities to provide information on sanitation and hygiene in an effort to prevent child illnesses and other diseases. The position works in conjunction with the clinical leads of all of the community clinics as well as the participating hospitals.

The public health community liason will be responsible for 2-3 communities at a time providing information and conducting the public health interventions within the tent communities


Fonctions

Duties include:
• Conduct educational sessions for the committees and community members within the tent communities/camps.
• Provide onsite support to conduct needs assessments and focus groups among sites that will be added as expansion proceeds.
• Implement on-site public health community activities that will be used by the members of the community as basic public health norms.
• Provide reports to the Public Health Community Lead for completed community activities


Qualifications réquises

• Speak Creole.
• Strong ability to support development of educational tools for immediate usage and dissemination
• Experience in community organizing and empowerment
• Experience in community health information dissemination
