The IT Consultant will provide training to help support the ongoing mission of the NGO. He or she should have the following capacities:

WEB: (50%)
• Maintain the NGO website in Haiti as per guidelines from IT manager
• Excellent knowledge of HTML coding without WYSYWIG editor
• Support IT Manager with technical issues surrounding Facebook, YouTube and Twitter
• Work with relevant staff to administer the NGO’s documents in Scribd account
• Prepare export of the NGO data on a monthly basis, comfortable working with large data files in .csv format
• Testing and evaluating new technology
• Assist staff with web test issues on the NGO site

NETWORK: (30%)
• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Setup of new employee email application (Outlook,)
• Maintain e-mail accounts and confidentiality of all passwords and other restricted information of all staff
• Quickly respond to problems or interruption in Internet access
• Responsible for data backup from all computers in Port-au-Prince
• Ensure operation and maintenance of computers, printers, copiers, Thuraya and other electronic equipment
• Installation and upgrading of software, advise in procurement of hardware
• Solving computer problems of the NGO National and International Staff.
• Keeping software on the NGO machines updated (e.g. Antivirus, Firefox, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Operating System updates, Adobe updates)
• Setup and maintenance of networked printers

Support Responsibilities: (20%)

• Support and train staff on computer related software and hardware issues.
• Collect, summarize and disseminate updated computer software, virus risk and other IT related information to all the NGO’s computers
• Hold internal trainings and introduce new techniques regarding use of computers.
• Any other task as assigned by the Administration & Operations Manager or Country Director.

• Bachelor degree in computer science
• Minimum four (4) years of practical experience in the field of IT with an International organization, preferably with web management and trouble shooting experience
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
• Strong attention to detail

Key Technical competencies
• Excellent knowledge of HTML code, Microsoft Office suite
• Good command of Drupal content management system
• Excellent networking skills, both trouble shooting and maintenance
• Ability to setup and maintenance of networks and advice colleagues in proper use of the NGO’s extranet file sharing

Reports directly to Admin & Operations Manager in Port-au-Prince.
