Introduction

To supervise the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of water and sanitation projects, to assist in establishing and supervising technical feasibility studies, and to assist the WASH PM in the outworking of his objectives as part of a wider public health programme.


Fonctions

• Prepare weekly programmes of activities according to guidance of project manager.
• Report progress and requirements from project sites.
• Supervise any Tearfund staff assisting in the WASH work, as requested by line manager, and supervise Contractors employed.
• Liaise with stakeholders and manage local third parties relationships, including translation for the Project Manager.
• To assist project manager to prepare or requisition engineering design/specification, procurement schedules, tender documents and contracts.
• To assist project manager in the establishment and management of feasibility and other studies, and with reviewing and recording results.
• Estimate and order materials and make all necessary arrangements for mobilising personnel and staff in accordance with the programme.
• Assist the Project Manager in any Needs Assessments or monitoring and evaluation activities.
• To carry out any other task as requested by the Line Manager, in order to achieve the project objectives.


Qualifications réquises

• University Degree/ Engineering Degree
• Vocational training in WATSAN infrastructure
• Experience in implementing WatSan programmes
• Experience in working with communities
• 2 years Experience of working with NGOs
• Understanding of the Red Cross Code of Conduct and Sphere standards
• Experience of water quality testing and water chlorination
• Good oral and written skills especially in Creole
• Good oral skills in English
• Good written skills in English
• Ability to take initiative and think objectively
• Ability to manage staff in a supportive manner Good facilitation skills
• Construction trades, such as carpenter/mason
