INGO IS LOOKING FOR QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR


Fonctions

PURPOSE OF POSITION :

The primary purpose of the position is to perform audits as assigned by the Audit Manager. The auditor assists the Audit Manager in review and audit of projects and programs to ensure the promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for which the funds were given.

The incumbent performs audits that are in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards (IIA Standards), the US Government Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAGAS) for US Government Funding and World Vision’s Financial Manual Internal Audit policies and procedures.


B. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conducts audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of organizational operations using professional audit standards and practices by:

a) Examining various departmental records and interviews staff to ensure accurate recording of transactions and compliance with the World Vision International policies and procedures.

b) Inspecting accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value in the recording and management of organization resources.

c) Reviewing records pertaining to fixed and movable assets to determine degree to which they are effectively, efficiently and economically utilized.

d) Analyzing data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in internal controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, and non-compliance with country laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures.

2. Prepares reports of audit results and recommendations to management using good written skills.

3. Conducts special reviews/investigations as directed.

4. Conducts compliance reviews of organization records to ensure compliance with Government statutory requirements in areas including but not limited to taxation laws, employment law and any other applicable local requirements.

5. Perform any other duties as directed by the Audit Manager.

6. Maintains Continuing Education (“CPE”) as required.

Qualifications réquises

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal courses and prior work experience.

• University degree in Accounting or Audit.
• Minimum 5 years experience in External and Internal Audit.
• Full accounting qualifications –CPA or CIA or other internationally recognized accounting qualification.
• Experience with USAID standards.
• Should have good communication and quantitative skills.
• Must be able to travel extensively within the country up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to coordinate tasks
• Strong English and French reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Must have good working knowledge of computerised accounting systems, preferably Sun Systems & Vision. Must be computer literate in using Microsoft Office programs.
• Must be able to work independently in remote areas.
