Introduction

Carry out Finance and Accounting duties in support of the organisation Haiti programme. This includes reviewing and designing systems of internal control and building the capacity of staff in accounting and financial compliance.


Fonctions

• Manage Assistant Finance Officer
• Cash forecasting – meeting with Project Managers on a regular basis and ensuring adequate cash resources available on site.
• Compliance checks – on all cash vouchers/ contracts; ensuring correct financial procedures are being followed.
• Working closely with Logistics on maintaining high standards of procurement.
• Monitoring of all GIK items alongside Logistics and ensuring the correct procedures are followed and the paper-trail complete.
• Monthly Status reporting – monthly meeting with senior programme staff to go through monthly report; explanations of budget v expenditure and check for discrepancies on coding.
• Handle cash and cheque payments and ensure compliance on paperwork – authorisation/ approval/ budget codes
• Weekly catch ups with BM & AC on expenditure – monitoring of outgoings against the forecast.
• Work closely with the FM on improving delivery of financial provision to programme activities to ensure risk/ fraud is minimised and beneficiaries reached efficiently.
• Oversee payroll process for field sites and liaise with HR & Finance to ensure deadlines are met and payments are correct.
• Team player – works with the programme departments for the overall success of the programme delivery.
• Ability to communicate financial procedures to others and ensure understanding. Able to run short training sessions on key areas for Programme staff.
• Assist Finance Manager on all aspects of DMT finances as required


Qualifications réquises

Degree/ Master in relevant field / CPA
Proven experience with book keeping/accountants, personnel management and staff supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, French and Creole
• Computer skills (Windows Outlook, Word, Excel to intermediate level or above
• Ability to prioritise
• Attention to detail
• Ability to learn fast
• Ability to communicate confidently and comfortably about own personal faith
• Ability and commitment to apply biblical principles prayerfully within all aspects of the role
