The Fondwa Creole Institute was founded in January 2011 to help bridge the language gap between foreigners and the Haitian people.

The Institute currently consists of an Education Department and an Interpretation Department. The Education Department is a contract placement organization. That is, the department receives an education request from an individual or organization, and one of the institute's qualified language educators is then contracted to fulfill the request. The Haitian Creole Language Instructor will be a member of the
Education Team of the Fondwa Language Institute. The Instructor will
be placed by short-term contract according to the direction of the
institute. The Instructor will work with both individuals and
organizations who are in need of language education and who contract
with the Fondwa Creole Institute.

The Instructor will teach students on a variety of
ability levels in a variety of locations, to develop and teach from lesson plans developed independently and on short notice.

The position entails a great deal of responsibility and requires a great depth of lingual skills and abilities, and the absolute highest degree of personal integrity.

The applicant, if hired will receive a great degree of language instruction experience in diverse environments, working with world-class organizations.
Teacher Duties:
-To provide the absolute highest quality Creole/French-English instruction to clients
-To act with the highest degree of personal and professional integrity at all times
-To adapt to a rapidly changing working environment
-Other duties as assigned

Necessary Qualifications:
➢ Excellent verbal and written English skills
➢ Excellent verbal and written Creole skills
➢ Ability to devise and execute customized lesson plans on short notice,
for students with a variety of ability levels
➢ Ability to explain grammatical and linguistic concepts accurately
and concisely in English
➢ Flexibility to work either in Port-au-Prince, Leogane, or Jacmel
➢ Extreme punctuality and reliability
➢ At least 1 year experience teaching the relevant language(s)

Desirable qualifications:
➢ University degree in linguistics and/or education
➢ Advanced knowledge of linguistic concepts
➢ At least 3 years teaching experience in a government-recognized
educational institution
➢ Foreign-language education certification such as TEFL
➢ Past experience developing educational curricula and lesson plans
➢ Experience living in country of instruction language(s)

Compensation Package:
Compensation will depend on the experience and other qualifications of the specific applicant, and will be paid on an hourly basis.

Location and Schedule:
The location may change on a case-by-case basis, however, a majority of courses will likely take place in Port-Au-Prince, Jacmel, or Leogane.
