Introduction


Fonctions

The key areas of responsibility are:
• Supervise construction teams engaged for the construction of various water and sanitation structures, interpreting and instructing them to execute work as per designs and drawings
• Ensure quality of all works as per drawings, sketches and instructions as advised by the Engineer.
• Engage casual labourers in consultation with Beneficiary representatives and the Project manager.
• Prepare casuals wage payrolls and submit to Project Manager for approval
• Prepare weekly and daily work plans and organize and deploy the necessary labour to execute them, ensuring the general schedule of works.
• Liase with the Community Development Officer and Public Health Officer to ensure effective community participation in planning and implementation of facilities.
• Requisition materials and manage delivery to sites.
• On daily basis maintain construction books (work progress as well as material delivery and consumption recorded).
• Report on progress of works and encountered delays/problems.
• Ensure proper usage, maintenance and storage of equipment, tools and materials.
• Ensure usage of PPE.
• Produce technical documentation of constructed schemes.
• Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager LG or WASH Engineer.


Qualifications réquises

1. Competent in construction as well as in the fields of water and sanitation. Experience in construction and rehabilitation of spring catchments, water distribution networks, rainwater harvesting systems and sanitary facilities will be a strong assert.
2. Team management and planning of activities.
3. Good organizational capacity
4. Good knowledge of the intervention area and ability to work and leave in remote rural locations.
5. Good communication skills and teamwork spirit.
6. Dynamic
7. Conversational English an added advantage
