The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the Government of Haiti (GOH) – represented by the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications – are collaborating on the rehabilitation of the Cap Haitien Port (CHP), in Cap Haitien, Haiti, through a Public Private Partnership to operate and maintain the port more efficiently by rehabilitating and modernizing the existing CHP to increase trade and provide competitive port services within the region. USAID engaged Trigon Associates, LLC as the Construction Management Consultant Contractor (CMC) to assist with the management of the USAID Port Cap Haitien Réhabilitation Project (CHPRP) including monitoring and oversight of the General Contractor (GC) and site activities, and coordination with all the project stakeholders in and around the port during construction activities to ensure all parties have knowledge of the work performed and project’s progress.
Fonctions
The Health Safety & Security (HS&S) Officer will work with the Chief of Party (COP) and Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer as well as other team members working at the CHP project site. The HS&S Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the contractor complies with all relevant health, safety and security regulations on site. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the safety of employees, visitors and contractors
Qualifications réquises
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, safety management, engineering or related concentration.
Certificate in occupational health and safety.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations
Minimum 5 years of experience in health, safety, and security management on construction of ports or similar maritime facilities or other construction facilities.
