Introduction

In the wake of Haiti’s catastrophic earthquake, TechnoServe is partnering with The Coca-Cola Company on the Haiti Hope Project, whose objective is to create a sustainable Haitian mango industry and play a role in the island nation’s long-term recovery efforts. TechnoServe will help Haitian mango farmers grow their crops more efficiently, produce additional crops to boost their incomes and create businesses allowing them to access markets sustainably. One hundred percent of the profit from the Odwalla Haiti Hope Mango Lime-Aid will go to the project. The Coca-Cola Company has committed $3.5 million to the Haiti Hope Project. The Inter-American Development Bank's Multilateral Investment Fund has committed $3 million in funding. The efforts of TechnoServe, The Coca-Cola Company and other donors and partners will help Haitian communities rebuild and create a better future.


Fonctions

The Accountant will be responsible for the provision, improvement, timeliness and quality of financial management information – including oversight of financial controls and budget management, compliance, financial and budget analysis, financial reporting and administration of grants fund.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management and donor reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and annual budgets.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
• Implement grant tracking/monitoring system, monitor grant expenditures and ensure grant compliance.
• Manage payroll and expense reimbursement for staff.
• Produce periodic management reports for project senior staff.
• Prepare cash flow statements, expenditure accounts and tax returns.
• Work with Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager to prepare annual and multi-year budgets.
• Prepare and maintain an annual audit file for review by internal and external auditors, including proper documentation of financial transactions
• Work with M&E Manager to report on key findings.


Qualifications réquises

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:

• Degree in Administration/Finance or related area with a minimum of 5 years experience in accounting/financial management, or at least 5 years of increasing experience in as an Accountant, Financial Controller, or Auditor, having worked with international organizations.
• Recognized professional accounting qualification with demonstrated practical understanding of management accounting principles.
• Detail oriented, and excellent understanding of accrued accounting.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Knowledge of grants management.
• High degree of communication skills, particularly attuned to working well with non-finance professionals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to maintain consistent financial standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation and local government laws.
• Knowledge of Accounting Systems preferred.
• Experience with an NGO preferred.
• Proficiency in English and French.
