Who are we?

Oxfam is increasing its aid effort in Haiti to reach more and more people. Recovery will be a long process but our combined operational experience of almost 5 years of working in Haiti together with our expertise in areas such as cash-for-work projects, water and sanitation, means we’re well positioned to provide the right support. We are looking for a motivated and professional Haitian Human resources manager to support the ongoing programme initiatives.


Fonctions

The role.

The successful candidate will lead on the development and implementation of the Haiti HR strategy; contribute to the overall management of the programme, drawing on own diagnostic, professional knowledge of the business; play a major and influential role in divisional change management and organisational development, driving learning and development through the management line in HAITI; be responsible for the effective implementation and development of the full suite of HR practices according to best practice and legal obligations; including recruitment, selection, reward management, health and safety, diversity, employee relations, change management and learning and development. The post holder will constantly look for ways to improve human resources strategies, while ensuring any lessons learned are shared across our team.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a dynamic professional person with:
Full professional qualification in Human Resources Management and/or substantial HR experience; with full knowledge of, or ability to develop knowledge and understanding of the Employment Law and HR Policies/Best practice at a senior level.
Systematic in approach with good attention to detail
Ability to reflect and effect a gender and diversity sensitive human resources policy
Proven skills in both spoken and written French and English
Successful track record of consistent personal achievement at both an operational and strategic level in different contexts and with diverse teams, including in the international environment
Ability to provide a strategic and business partner support to the country teams that demonstrates knowledge of the business, HR expertise, and personal credibility and as a change agent.
Confidence and tenacity in driving HR best practice despite resistance, obstacles and ambiguity.
Computer skills – Word, Excel, use of the Internet, databases and email
