The Food Logistics Officer is the person in charge of the Food Logistics Software and Network at CRS/Les Cayes and has to verify all reports related to Commodity Management and Non-Food Items. He is also responsible for maintaining the computer network and internet connection in the office, in the absence of the ITT.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as resource for all aspects of the Food and Emergency Logistics Softwares in order to prepare all kinds of reports for the Material Resource Department.

• Prepare a list of Food Log problems and propose solutions. Share this information with the ISFOM Information System and Field Operations Manager and collaborate with him for appropriate corrections.

• Become efficient in the use of Microsoft Access and be able to create other “ad hoc” reports from Food Log as required.

• Provide training and or information on Food Log to the staff that uses this software.

• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, the Commodity Logistics and Monitoring Manager, the Reporting Compliance Officer, The Data entry Clerk to ensure all data is entered correctly on Foodlog, and all required reports are generated with correct information and in a timely manner.

• Ensure regular (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly) backups of Food Logistics databases.

• Maintain and manage Food Log network.

• Execute all tasks that fall under the responsibility of FLO-Les Cayes as set out in Food Log procedures and assist others in preparing Food Log reports.

• Initialize and enter all data related to reception (PL, BL) of commodities coming from the port or other agencies

• Document all problems, changes and new uses of Food Log system network.


• Act as a liaison with ISFOM and other companies/consultants employed to maintain or repair the system.

• Maintain Food Log files such as validation

• Issue Waybills for delivery, transfer and recuperation of commodities

• Maintain the flexibility of the Fodlog software to accommodate new fields

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with other CRS computer technicians for maintenance and repair of Food Log as well as assisting others in installation, maintenance and repair of other CRS computers, networks and databases.
• Ensure that Internet System is working properly.
• Become familiar with and Maintain SYCONUR (Emergency materials control System)

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least two years of University level studies in Computer Sciences,
• Good knowledge of computer hardware, DBMS and software, specially the use Microsoft Access
• Experiences in Local Area Network
• Writing and reading English, French
• Work experience related to computers.
