Introduction
A massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean country of Haiti on 12 January 2010. The extent of the devastation is still not clear but news reports indicate thousands of people may have died. This was Haiti's worst quake in two centuries and hit south of the capital Port-au-Prince. HelpAge International has a programme office based in Port-au-Prince, which has been working in Haiti over the last eight years and we are working to respond this emergency programme. Fonctions The Care Homes Manager will be the focal point for the delivery of this initiative and will oversee and manage the support provided to all the care homes that HelpAge works with, as well as the designated places in IDP camps for special needs. This will involve coordinating and addressing multiple, complex and often conflicting demands such as food, quality of service, staff recruitment and training, health care provision, psychosocial support etc. They will also arrange for the planning and systems management for new municipal care homes throughout the regions affected by the earthquake Qualifications réquises Candidates must have a university degree and management level experience in service delivery. You must have significant experience of managing a complex, multi-faceted and multi functional establishment. This could include managing a hotel, school, care home or hospital for example. You must be able to coordinate conflicting demands of multiple departments i.e. finance, HR, service, food preparation, client oriented/customer service. Computer literacy and ability to communicate in English are essential for this role, and experience of working in humanitarian relief or with IDPs or older people is particularly desirable.
