American Red Cross in Haiti is seeking a qualified national assistant consultant to work with the lead consultant of Cholera Evaluation that is going to start tentatively from the 1st week of November 2015. The position is a short term consultancy and the consultant will be required to work for about 20 days. He/she will report to the Lead consultant during the consultancy period.

1) Work with the ARC/Lead consultant to prepare and plan for the evaluation activities.

2) Conduct combined or independent beneficiary interviews in the field

3) Conduct stakeholder and staff interviews as advised by the lead consultant

4) Assist lead consultant in organizing interview in the field , translation of documents or interviews as necessary and as asked by the Lead consultant

5) Prepare and develop qualitative interviews and focus group discussion notes and report to the Lead consultant

6) Assist Lead consultant to prepare for the preliminary findings presentation at the end of field work

7) Submit all archived notes, interviews notes, reports and collected documents to the Lead Consultant by the end of the consultancy period.

8) Conduct any evaluative activities, as required by the Lead Consultant.

The following are the desired qualifications of the Local Assistant (Haitian nationals only):

1. Minimum Bachelor degree in public health or relevant field
2. At least 3 years of experiences in working with the public health sector in the government or with non-government organizations in Haiti
3. Demonstrated experience in conducting rapid rural appraisals using focus group discussions, key informant interviews of beneficiaries, project staff and other stakeholders
4. Experience in participating in independent external evaluations of humanitarian projects highly desirable.
5. Fluent in French and native speaker of Haitian Creole; fluency in English preferred
