Background :-

UMCOR Haiti is implementing “Agriculture Productivity Enhancement Project” in Cul-de-Sac Plain; Project aims to address the challenges faced by farmers of area in Agriculture production. One of key area identified is use of traditional methods of vegetables sowing and production resulting in very low yield. To bring positive changes in lives of vulnerable communities in project area UMCOR intends to introduce improved methods for sowing, protection and production of vegetables like onion, Okra, Spinach, potato and tomato. To enhance capacity of selected 300 farmers for focusing improved production technologies of aforementioned vegetables. UMCOR intends to hire services of consultant to provide technical trainings including development of brief module about production technologies of Tomato, potato and onion.

Deliverables:-

• Preparation of brief training modules (03) including provision of technical training to strengthen capacity of selected farmers in project area.
• Delivery of training for 10 days .There will be 10 sessions and each session comprised of 01 day for 30 beneficiaries.
• Preparation and submission of training report including recommendations for future initiatives.

The medium for provision of training should be in Creole; final report can be submitted in English.

Consultant Profile
The consultant must have the following profile:
• University study in Agronomy, Development Sciences, Agricultural or any relevant field.
• Have experience of at least 3-5 years in capacity building training; or teaching at University
• Experience in curriculum development and training tools;
• Have strong experience in the process of organizational development;
• Good capacity to adapt the training at level of the farmers participants;
• Having strong reporting skills
• Strong working knowledge of French, English and Creole;
• Excellent capacity in presentation and communication (writing and speaking).
