Introduction

In the framework of the activities of the IOM health programme (Cholera Response, Health Information and Education Projects), under the direct supervision of the Community Health Supervisor and the overall supervision of the Health Operations Team, the incumbent will perform the following duties:


Fonctions

General Functions

In particular, he/she will:

1.Assist the health supervisor in conducting assessments to define health and communication needs of persons living in IDP settlements, as well as health facility mapping in your designated commune.

2.Co-facilitate trainings on a variety of health topics to community health brigadiers/agents, community leaders and partner organizations in your designated commune(s).

3.Follow up daily progress on the activities of community health brigadiers/agents, including collection of reports, monitoring of equipment, troubleshooting and ongoing support to community health brigadiers/agents.

4.Attend meetings with community members and local and international partners when requested by your supervisors.

5.Attend daily briefing and provide written reports to your supervisor when necessary.

6.Assist in the recruitment of community health brigadiers/agents.

7.Ensure documentation is collected for project activities and filed appropriately: including attendance records, and correspondence with local partners.

8.Work together with health dispatch to ensure most vulnerable patients have access to transport and in most cases assisted them in the accessing of health services.

9.Be available to work on weekends and public holidays in the case of an emergency and participate in regular on-call roster for weekends and public holidays.

10.Perform any other duty as may be assigned.




Qualifications réquises

Qualifications required

Education/Experience

Secondary degree and at least in 2 years experience in the health sector, flexibility, ability to work in difficult situations and in national/international settings as part of a team.
Good communications skills are a must. Computer literacy, report writing ability and good administrative skills are also required. Working Experience with NGOs and communities is an advantage.

Languages

Fluent in Creole/French; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
