COMMUNITY MOBILIZERS

Fonctions

JOB SUMMARY:
The Community mobilizers will be responsible for the implementation and organisation of all Food Security and Livelihoods activities in Port-au-Prince.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively participate in the identification of beneficiary population for the Livelihoods Program: carrying out surveys to identify sites for intervention (focus group discussions, survey of households, etc.), establish criteria for selection of beneficiary households, identify recipient households with the participation of the population, etc.
• Support project Supervisors with the identification of small business and offer technical expertise, particularly on business development, micro and revolving loans.
• Actively participate in the monitoring and evaluation of activities against Save the Children’s donor indicators: participate in the implementation of monitoring tools and roll-out monitoring activities with the beneficiaries using the tools; participate in data collection and analysis.
• Collect information from the field, input the data into excel (or any other data base program) and analyze information gathered.
• Identify, respect Save the Children hierarchy, and analyze problems (at the implementation of activities, etc.) and propose solutions.
• Serve as direct liaison between the project and the beneficiaries in its area of intervention.
• Participate in the drafting of the report of donors (proposals, reports interims and final).


Qualifications réquises

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
• Have completed a university degree (in the field of economics, business development or social sciences) from a recognized technical school.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in the field of development.
• Have at least 1 year experience in the implementation of mobilization projects in microfinance and small enterprises.
• Be prepared to work in difficult conditions: spending considerable amount of time in the field (camps and areas affected by the earthquake).
• Have experience in the implementation of emergency activities, focusing specifically on income generating activities, preferably with NGOs.
• Have an excellent knowledge of Excel or any other database program, and Word.
• Good communications skills, both writing and verbally: in English and French.
• Experience working in a community setting.
