Fonctions

JOB SUMMARY:
The Education Program Manager (EM) is responsible for the management and delivery of results in Save the Children’s Education program in Port-au-Prince. The EM will manage the education budget for the location and ensure that program activities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner and up to a high standard. The EM will provide timely feedback on program progress, challenges, gaps and lessons learned. The EM will be responsible for effective cross-sector linkages and to develop and maintain good working relationships with local partners, other INGOs, local Ministry of Education representatives and the UN.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Lead, manage and motivate the program team in Port-Au-Prince
 Liaise closely with the Education Cluster in the Region, participate actively in collaborative planning, implementation, information sharing and other initiatives coordinated by the Cluster; support Co-Cluster coordination with UNICEF on behalf of Save the Children when necessary.
 Work closely with department and zonal leadership, and with international, national and local partner organizations.
 Develop a strategic plan with clear targets and outcomes for districts and zones for basic education and early childhood development in line with SCiH strategy and annual plans
 Recruit and supervise staff; conduct regular and appropriate capacity building activities for staff.
 Special focus to be given to developing the capacity of the Deputy Program Manager.
Ensure timely planning, troubleshooting, follow up, monitoring and reporting.


Qualifications réquises

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
• Master Degree in Education
• At least 5 years international experience.
• Experience in Team Management budgeting and planning, presentation.
• Experience of building and developing the capacity of Education staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Good written and spoken French and English
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
