Fonctions

JOB SUMMARY:
The Deputy Nutrition Manager works closely with the Health & Nutrition Program Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the program implementation, supervision and monitoring and ensure project targets and objectives are achieved. S/He will provide leadership in capacity building and support to staffs; ensures effective coordination between sectors and the timely and quality service delivery to beneficiaries.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide managerial support and technical supervision to all nutrition activities supported by SCIH and ensure MSPP approved nutrition guidelines and protocols including reporting tools are observed.
• Conducts regular on-the-job trainings for field based nutrition staffs and identify training needs that can promote quality service delivery.
• Conduct timely review on nutrition center reports and provide explanation on achievements, challenges and recommendations to the line manager.
• Give input in the development of project proposals and project reports for donors and partner agencies. All reports prepared should be submitted to your direct supervisor.
• Follow up on all nutrition supplies at the centers and ensure food and other resources are appropriately managed and are distributed to only the intended beneficiaries.
• Strengthen the integration of nutrition services (IYCF/PCNB, PTA, and PNS) into the health care delivery system and promote active involvement of MSPP at field level.
• Ensure optimum Infant and Young Child Nutrition promotion materials are available at the various center and regular health & nutrition education sessions held by the staff at the feeding centers and in project communities.
• Develop a monthly work schedules in collaboration with the nutrition team and organize monthly meetings with staff to share program information and feedbacks.
• Attend nutrition technical meetings with other partners (NGOs, UNICEF, WHO, WFP) and the Ministry of Health in consultation with your immediate Supervisor and work with other relevant sectors (Health; WASH; Livelihood; Protection; Education) to ensure coordination of nutrition activities where appropriate for maximum project impact on beneficiaries.


Qualifications réquises

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
• Degree in Public/Community Health or Social Sciences from an Institution recognized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population.
• Minimum 5 years experience working in Nutrition or Primary Health program with at least 3 of the years in a managerial position. Experience in Team Management budgeting and planning, presentation.
• Community based management of acute malnutrition essential
• Knowledge in nutritional software (Epi info, SMART) desirable.
• Literate in computer MS Words and Excel.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Good written and spoken French and English
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
