Fonctions

This position is primarily responsible for serving as an information focal point for the cholera response in Plan Haiti with regard to internal and external audiences. Specific job duties include coordinating information from various staff to compile situation reports and weekly dashboards on a regular basis; answering inquiries about Plan Haiti from the larger Plan family as well as other stakeholders; and supporting the Cholera Response Team and communications team in documentation and reporting on Cholera Response Programme.

Cholera response is located in the context of Plan’s regular activities and earthquake response work. The position will be the point person and liaison between the cholera response and other ongoing activities.

Main Responsabilities :

Focus of the work is on cholera:

• Work with Program staff to ensure timely and consistent reporting of Plan Haiti’s cholera emergency response activities for both situation reports and weekly dashboards.
• Prepare periodic updates (qualitative and quantitative) on Plan’s response to the Cholera crisis.
• Liaise with IH/RO/NO staff to provide additional information as necessary about aspects of Plan Haiti programs.
• Assist with the production of communications pieces for use by general public and media audiences, based on technical program information and first-hand accounts.
• Support Program staff in documenting achievements and successes through written and graphic communications (blogs, newsletters, photos, videos, etc.).
• Support Communications team in planning and implementing NO, media, and other visits by answering questions, providing research and other relevant information for their visit.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strict attention to detail.
• Ability to build strong relationships and work well with a variety of constituencies, including internal and external senior leadership.
• Ability to own project and process management initiatives.
• Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Resourcefulness, flexibility and willingness to work in challenging situations.
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programs.
• Photography skills a plus (for documenting program progress).
• Experience in social media a plus.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (in communication / information processing) required or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Proven track record of strong performance over a minimum two to four years of professional work experience.
• Comparable experience in an NGO, UN, or the private sector.
• Developing country work experience.
• Verbal and written fluency in English and French required. Haitien Creole a plus.
