In August 2022, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded International Business Initiatives Corp. (IBI)The Evaluation Survey Services Plus (ESS+) contract to support USAID/Haiti and its partners with evaluations, survey and study support, capacity building and learning events, and in-country Third Party Monitoring. IBI partnered with SI to implement the USAID Haiti Evaluation and Survey Services Plus (ESS+) Activity.

Haiti ESS+ is seeking 4 Research Assistants (RA)/Notetakers to support data collection and data analysis of its Evaluation/Assessment portfolio. The RA/Notetakers serve as members of the baseline/evaluation/assessment team, providing assistance in planning, and conducting data collection. The RA/Notetakers will be expected to produce high quality summary notes in English after each Key Informant Interview, Focus Group Discussion, and Group Interview. The RA/Notetakers will be involved in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. The RA/Notetakers will work under the supervision of the Team Leader to assist throughout the whole data collection and analysis process.
The baseline/evaluation/assessment level of effort is approximately 7 weeks, including 3 weeks of data collection and 4 weeks of data analysis. This position is open to local Haitian citizens only.


Fonctions

Under the supervision of the evaluation Team Leader, the RA/Notetakers will:
• Participate in the training for RA/Notetakers.
• Plan and coordinate logistics for data collection.
• Record and take detailed notes during interviews and focus group discussions.
• Provide high quality summary notes in English and/or in French for each interview. Translate all non-English notes into English.
• Participate in all team planning meetings or other meetings with the Team Leader
• Participate in all data analysis.
• Collaborate in any other evaluation tasks as directed by the Team Leader
• Submit notes and recordings within 1 business day of the interview. If English translation is required, provide translation within 2 business days of the interview.
• Meet deadlines and produce good results.


Qualifications réquises

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or other related fields
• At least 3 years of experience participating in Evaluation in Haiti.
• Ability to contribute to analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
• Proficiency in written and spoken French and Advanced-Intermediate level in English is required.
o Strong skills in note taking and transcription in French and English.
o Strong skills in writing reports in French and English.
• Ability to pay attention to details.
• Familiarity with development projects, USAID experience preferred.
• Proven leadership and organizational skills to successfully support the Team Leader
