Fonctions

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Haiti and direct supervision of the WASH Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will be accountable for Supporting Project Assistant (Watsan) for implementation and management of WASH activities among IDPs and vulnerable host communities in Haiti.
In particular, he/she will be assigned to the following tasks:

a) Support the team by undertaking rapid or in-depth general assessments, including house to house assessment, IDPs sites, host communities.
b) Support the team in conducting technical assessments and analysis of the data collected for the implementation of activities.
c) Assist Project Assistant in the supervision, monitoring, and implementation of activities in the field.
d) Contribute to distribution of kit and other materials to beneficiaries, when quired.
e) Support Project Assistant during emergency response activities.
f) In coordination with Project Assistant, prepare and submit technical drawings, BoQs
g) In coordination with the Project Assistant, prepare and submit field and progress reports including recommendations for improvement of project implementation.
h) Assist in planning project interventions and prepare cost estimates for the activities.
i) Support Project Assistant verifying constructions and activities are completed, and they meet the standards.
j) Deliver technical training for the targeted communities
k) Perform other related duties as assigned.


Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
• Submission of regular field reports
• Production and submission of technical documents (drawings, BoQs, etc.)
• Ensure scheduling of planned activities


Qualifications réquises

EDUCATION
University degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with one years of relevant professional experience or School diploma in the above fields with two years of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS

• Experience in the design and implementation of WASH infrastructures and activities, including procurement and contract management.
• Experience in implementing activities in the field
• Good computer literacy (Excel, PPT, Word) and good administrative skills
• Good knowledge of French (oral and written)
• Experience working with NGOs/UN agencies is an advantage

LANGUAGES:
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

For this position: Fluency in French and Creole (Oral and Written) are required, English as an advantage.
