Fonctions

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Haiti and direct supervision of the WASH Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will be accountable for Supporting Project Assistant (Water Quality) for implementation and management of WASH activities among IDPs and vulnerable host communities in Haiti.
In particular, he/she will be assigned to the following tasks:

a) Support Project Assistant to plan and implement the activities to monitor water quality in the locations of IOM interventions, and any other site required
b) Perform water sampling and quality analysis
c) Prepare and submit regular reports of the water quality situation
d) Contribute to write technical guidelines for water quality analysis
e) Support the Project Assistant to deliver training to the communities on water quality, safe water handling and storage, water disinfection
f) Support Project Assistant to find solution for water purification at household level and community level
g) Perform other related duties as assigned.


Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
• Submission of regular water quality report reports
• Number of water analysis performed weekly
• Ensure scheduling of planned activities


Qualifications réquises

EDUCATION
University degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience, or School diploma in the above fields with three years of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS

• Experience in the implementation of water sampling and quality test
• Knowledge of water biological and chemical analysis
• Good computer literacy (Excel, PPT, Word) and good administrative skills
• Good knowledge of French (oral and written)
• Experience working with NGOs/UN agencies is an advantage

LANGUAGES:

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

For this position: Fluency in French and Creole (Oral and Written) are required, English as an advantage.
