Fonctions

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Resources Management Officer, and the direct supervision of the National IT Officer, the Information Technology Assistant will be responsible for assisting on the maintenance, support and implementation of the infrastructure in IOM Port-au-Prince. In particular, he/she will:

1. Provide onsite end-user support to IOM staff.
2. Support in the maintenance of present and upcoming IT equipment.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
4. Implement configuration of desktops and laptops for IT Services such as Internet, access to network resources, email, and others.

5. Install, configure and upgrade hardware and software for desktops and laptops (Windows, MSOffice, Antivirus and in house produced software).
6. Virus detection, removal, and prevention for all end users.
7. Support in the Management of an overall tracking system for the ITC Equipment Inventory.
8. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users (IOM Main office including sub offices).
9. Assist in the implementation and management of a centralized regular backup of user’s files, emails, and database systems.
10. Regularly report needs and progress on ITC issues in his/her area of responsibility.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications réquises

Education
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or higher diploma in Computer science or related
field from an accredited academic institution1 with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
• High School degree / Certificate with five years of relevant experience.
Experience
• Experience in networking environment (LAN/WAN) and Motorola VHF and Codan HF network.
• Experience with Windows Server software (2003/2008) and Exchange server (2003/2010) in a multi-site environment, TCP/IP, MS Office, Antivirus Software,and IT utilities.
• Experience with HP/Compaq, IBM and Cisco equipment.
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Fluency in French and English are required. Working knowledge of Haitian creole.
