PERMANENT POSITION
BASED IN PORT-AU-PRINCE


Fonctions

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Deputy Field Manager for Port-au-Prince has responsibility for overseeing program quality and implementation in the Organization’s Port-au-Prince Sub-Office. She/he ensures that programs in the field site are carried out effectively and timely; ensures effective coordination between sectors and with sectoral leadership in the Port-au-Prince Country Office; and fills in for the Field Director when she/he is away from post.


SPECIFICS TASKS :
• Oversees SC’s program implementation in Port-au-Prince according to plan and budget, with an immediate focus on supporting communities in leaving camps and transitioning to long-term development programs.
• Supervises Sectoral Program Managers based in Port-au-Prince, providing programmatic and managerial guidance and support, and ensuring effective communication and coordination between programs, including ensuring Sectoral integration where appropriate.
• Ensures effective coherence of program team by holding regular meetings and implementing regular training, support and evaluation of staff.
• Grant and Donor Management – Ensures that donor reports and proposals are completed in a timely manner, and that donor and other field visits are facilitated appropriately from a program perspective.
• Maintains effective linkages between field and country office Sectoral Offices, and with local implementing technical partners.
• Strengthen and develop relationships with relevant local and national authorities and other partners and work to ensure SC accountability to local communities.


Qualifications réquises

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree in a related field and at least 3-5 years comparable related experience.
2. Min. 5 years progressive non-profit work experience with int’l humanitarian assistance programs.
3. Min. 3 yrs. overseas work experience in the same / similar role with SC or another reputable International NGO.
4. Excellent communication skills (both oral and verbal).
5. Able to live and work in a challenging environment.
6. Fluent in French or Haitian Creole strongly preferred.
7. Supervisory experience.
8. Highly organized.
