Fonctions

The GL Accountant will facilitate the Finance Department in enabling efficient finance operations throughout Plan Haiti in accordance with Plan rules and regulations. He/she will ensure that the children’s rights and welfare come first in all undertakings
What are the outputs and deliverables?
• Enter the transactions in the General Ledger on timely basis.
• Prepare various financial reports (partner, contractors, consultants etc) reports on a monthly basis.
• Ensure the proper completion, numbering and maintenance of all documentation and files including all expenses sent from the PUs.
• Follow with queries on coding raised for the PU Finance Officer.
• Ensure that PU manual records and the Dashboard are correct and to ensure that future transactions are coded correctly.
• Plan regular visit and technical support to the PUs to resolve issues relating to payments
• Send a transaction listing, and a trial balance to each PU after the month end processing is completed.
• Maintain photocopies of the payment vouchers for all transactions received from the PUs.
• Maintain photocopies of all written cheques received from the PUs.
• Review a completed Funds request form received from PUs before the Finance Manager’s signature.
• Work on any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Criteria for Success
• GL system updated and well-run all the time.
• Partner/ contractors/ files updated and in excellent order.
• Monthly outstanding commitment details in excellent order and readily available for review.


Qualifications réquises

Qualifications and Experience

• University Degree, preferably in Business Administration.
• Two years of relevant experience in finance is required, preferably in a development organisation.

Skills
• Sound knowledge, understanding, and practical application of financial tools toward facilitating the finance department.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and sustain partnerships and good working relations
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and relevant financial software packages.
• Excellent organisational skills.
