Job Summary

The Deputy Field Manager has responsibility for overseeing program quality and implementation in Save the Children’s two larges field sites, Port-au-Prince and Leogane. S/he ensures that SC’s programs in the field site are carried out effectively and timely; ensures effective coordination between sectors and with sectoral leadership in the PaP country office; and fills in for the Field Manager when s/he is away from post. This is expected to be a three-month assignment to see these programs through the most intense phase of the emergency response.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees SC’s program implementation in [Leogane or PaP], according to plan and budget.
• Supervises Sectoral Program Managers based in the field site, providing programmatic and managerial guidance and support, and ensuring effective communication and coordination between programs, including ensuring integration where appropriate.
• Ensures effective coherence of program team by holding regular meetings and implementing regular training, support and evaluation of staff.
• Grant and Donor Management – Ensures that donor reports and proposals are completed in a timely manner, and that donor and other field visits are facilitated appropriately from a program perspective
• Maintains effective linkages between field and country office sectoral offices, and with local implementing and technical partners.


Qualifications réquises

Background and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in a related field and at least 3-5 years comparable related experience
• Minimum of 5 years progressive non-profit work experience with int’l humanitarian.
• Minimum of 3 years overseas work experience in the same / similar role with SC or another reputable International NGO
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and verbal)
• Highly organized
• Able to live and work in a challenging environment
• Fluent French or Haitian Creole strongly preferred
