Introduction

On 12 January 2010, Haiti was severely hit by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that left an estimated 1.2 million displaced, principally within the capital city of Port-au-Prince, as well as the surrounding region. The level of damage caused to public and private infrastructure has led to the establishment of hundreds of spontaneous displacement sites. IOM, as one of the major humanitarian actors in Haiti, has quickly responded to the needs by implementing a number of programs in support of the affected population.


Fonctions

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Under the day-to-day management of the International Information Management Officer and reporting to the Senior Information Officer, the National Information Assistant will be responsible and accountable for the maintenance and regular updates of requests of Information Management products and services. The successful candidate will liaise with a number of counterparts, including but not limited to, governmental authorities, IASC cluster members, relevant IOM units and other partners.

In particular, (s) he will:

1.Serve as the Information Management focal point for requests, distribution of products etc.;
2.Assume responsibility for the management and updates of the IM requests system;
3.Assist with the editing, formatting of publications produced by IOM Haiti;
4.Develop graphics for use in reports and reference documents;
5.Support preparation of briefing materials, background papers, custom publications and exhibition;
6.materials for various partners and stakeholders;
7.Oversee the reproduction and final distribution of reports and briefing materials by electronic mail;
8.web and other electronic media;
9.Provide support on information products and services to IOM and partners as required;
10.Oversee the management of electronic documents and maintain the folder and file structure;
11.Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor(s).


Qualifications réquises

University degree, preferably in Public Administration, Information Systems or Accounting. Proof of successful university graduation will be required. Training/certification in the Microsoft Office Suite and database administration is an advantage.

Good understanding of Information Management principles
Solid knowledge of the MS Office Suite and other office software, as well as database management.
Highly developed ability to work with several partners and multiple requests under pressure.
Excellent service orientation and Team orientation.

3-5 years of progressively responsible positions in M&E, Information Management or Statistics, preferably with international organizations or national authorities. Experience in emergency relief, humanitarian or development program is an additional asset. Proven ability to successfully interact with key partners is desirable.
